Ooni Koda 16 Pizza Oven – 8 Months Later!
I cannot believe it’s been 8 months since the Ooni Koda 16 arrived! Check out my review – it’s helped me to cook much larger pizza!
This pizza oven has really helped me to cook larger pizza up to 16″ and I feel really comfortable using the space inside this oven to manoeuvre the pizza around!
This oven gives you the opportunity to cook a substantial sized pizza with its large pizza stone!
This is an easy to use pizza oven – great for beginners and pro pizza cooks alike because there is so much room in there to cook your pizza.
If you are new to pizza cooking the stone gives you the space to move your pizza away from the flames.
This helps when you are learning to cook with flames and on hot stone bases. This oven is lovely and bright and this helps so much when you are keeping an eye on your crust.
When I first saw the L-shaped burner I thought that this would add more of a challenge to the cook than a one-sided burner, but it didn’t.
The burner allows you to cook your pizza fast and rotate it less often. The burner also brings heat closer to the front edge of the stone, which also means that your pizza will cook closer to you on the left side as well as at the back.

I find cooking pizza over 9 to 10 inches in size a bit of a challenge! The challenge starts with the stretch but after that the launch into the oven is as straightforward as a smaller pizza.
The Ooni Koda 16 provides ample space to manoeuvre a pizza up to 16″ and you can decide how fast or slow you prefer to cook it. I find that the slower the cook and the lower the pizza flame, the crunchier the crust becomes.
The wispy flame from the gas burner really does cook a great crust – it’s gentle and strong, not forceful, but wispy and light.
