We cook in and review the NEW Ooni Karu 12G Pizza Oven!  Check it out!

The first cook with the Ooni Karu 12G using the wood-fired burner was enjoyable and easy to do!  I also used the Ooni Karu 12 gas burner which requires you to use a chimney and the door closed.

Overall, the wood-fired pizza cook was lovely  – the glass door really helped me keep an eye on the crust at the back without having to open the door which would release the heat.

The new thermometer dial at the side is super handy and reduces the need to keep checking the stone with a digital thermometer as the oven warms up thus preventing the heat from escaping.  That helps speed up the oven heat-up time.  However, you will need to use the digital thermometer to check the exact stone temperature when the oven is at temperature and ready for the pizza cook.

I found the Ooni Karu 12 grate lid handle to be more solid than the new Karu 12G grate lid handle which wiggles a bit, however, the main feature of this new updated Karu 12G oven is the glass door!
