Dough Docker Tool Pizza Dough Test using Ooni Koda 12 Pizza Oven.
I used the dough docker tool for the first time. Check the video out here!
This cheap but effective tool will place holes in your pizza dough, allowing the heat to disperse from your pizza base whilst it cooks!
I bought this docker tool a few months ago after I saw it on the internet with super ratings as a tool to use with pizza dough. I had to give it a try and I’m glad I did!
The holes release the hot air from inside the dough.
Once you have stretched out your pizza dough, just roll the tool over your dough and it will create many little holes – don’t push down too hard.
I wanted to end up with holes at the top of the base and not at the bottom.
The great thing about this gadget is that it creates holes very quickly and evenly.
This was a really inexpensive tool and worth it. You never know when you may need one of these and it’s very handy to have in your kitchen just in case!
Don't push it down too hard when you roll it unless you want holes to go right through the dough.
It’s very practical, quick and easy to use and clean. I will be using it to make naan and garlic bread in the pizza oven.
The holes allow the hot air to escape from your dough when it is cooking and stops the dough rising into a bubble!
I’ve created a Learning to Cook Pizza YouTube playlist that gives some great tips to help you with your learning to cook pizza journey!
