Me cooking fish in the pizza oven! Ok, let's be honest here. I haven't cooked fish outside in a long time and I mostly make fish dishes in the evening in my kitchen using a frying pan!
But this is something I wanted to cook outside because these pizza ovens are great for cooking dishes other than pizza and as I love cooking fish as much as pizza I had to make it.
I've created a Pizza for Beginners YouTube playlist that gives some great tips to help your learning to cook pizza journey! Enjoy your Pizza Cooking!

Another thing, I also wanted to show you whether there would be a difference with the fish cook between the two ovens. If you are considering buying a gas or a wood-fired oven and would like to cook dishes other than pizza in there then you should find this real-time cook helpful!
It wasn't a challenge to prepare or cook fish in these pizza ovens. I just had to slit the fish, add some fresh lemon pieces, season with salt and pepper and drizzle some olive oil and some more lemon juice onto the skin and that was it. The ovens did the rest. I warmed both ovens up to 250c.
The only issue I had was handling the boiling hot pan that needed to be pre-heated. Once the fish was in the pan it was just a matter of turning the pan a few times to get the fish cooked at the back evenly.
And surprisingly there wasn't much difference between the two cooks. I thought from previous cooks with fish that the Ooni Pro Pizza Oven would provide a more crinkled skin cook but that didn't happen. I was also surprised that the flavour was the same too. I think that if any flavour becomes imparted onto the fish in that short time it would be on the upward-facing skin.

The Ooni Koda Pizza Oven provided a little more of a crispy skin at the back and that was because the fish was quite near to the flame. Taste-wise, I wasn't able to tell the difference. The fish came out tender, melt-in-your-mouth soft and both of these ovens on low heat cook a great fish dish. Very delicious!
