Pizza Ovens
These Pizza Ovens will keep you warm on cold winter days, but just make sure the oven is protected against the rain when the oven is hot.
Cooking pizza outside on a cold Winter’s day can be enjoyable as long as you have some protection for your hot oven.
It’s not a good idea to get the oven wet with rain when it’s boiling hot as it could damage the outer shell, but not only that, the rain may drip onto the hot pizza stone during the cook.
So I would advise against actually cooking in the rain!
Cooking undercover in the rain is a lot more fun and actually quite cosy.
I have a few tips to help with your pizza cook:
- If it’s breezy, just turn the flames down a bit on the gas-fired oven. This will prevent the flames blowing onto your crust and scorching it in seconds.
- In between cooks, ensure the oven is on full flame – this will ensure the stone remains hot ready for the next pizza cook.
gas fired ovens are great for cooking in the rain as you can cook outside under cover as they don't need a chimney and the heat comes out from the front of the oven.
The heat from the oven will keep you super warm and the glow from the flames adds to that Winter cooking experience! Enjoy!
