I wish I could capture the smell of garlic bread on here!

How To Cook Garlic Bread using Pizza Dough in Ooni Koda Pizza Oven

Hello! Welcome to our learning to cook pizza journey! Hope you are all keeping safe and well. This week, during lockdown I made two garlic breads - one with the Ooni Pro, which I show at the end and the other with the Ooni Koda. The cook in the Pro didn’t go to plan, but I will try again soon - the issue was that the cheese cooked too fast and didn't give time for the crust and base! Plus I use a pizza roller which helped with the dough. 70% Hydration - The Pizza Dough Recipe: 500g caputo flour Soft Grain 350g water - 70% hydration 3% salt 1g dried yeast 24 hour fridge temp proof then a 24 hour room temp proof then frozen, brought back to room temp before use.

If you fancy some garlic bread then this is a very simple recipe to use:

You can use any dough that you have handy for this e.g. bread dough, pizza dough.

It cooks in the same way as a pizza and at the same high heat using a pizza oven.  If you are having a pizza party then this is a perfect accompaniment.  You can change the toppings to suit your preferences.

I used a mini-roller to roll out the pizza dough to a flatter shape with less bubbles - I didn't want any bubbly crusts either.

It's so easy to make so if you are cooking pizza in your pizza oven but haven't tried garlic bread give it a go - it's super delicious!

If you are using a wood-fired oven and decide to add some cheese to your garlic bread toppings - I'd opt for cheese with more moisture such as buffalo mozzarella rather than the grated mozzarella cheese.

Tip for the Butter:  If you need to quickly melt your butter a little to be able to spread it onto your dough, leave it in a suitable position near to the heat of your pizza oven and it will melt in no time!
