Cast Iron Wood Flamed Chicken Kebabs Cooked in a Wood Fired Pizza Oven

Pizza Ovens
This oven has a large grate that holds enough fuel for me to not worry about keeping the flame going.
Next, add your chicken pieces and chosen vegetables onto a metal skewer.
I added peri-peri seasoning to some of the chicken with slices of red onions.
I also added some Italian seasoning to some of the chicken kebabs with lemon and garlic. I would advise not using a water-soaked bamboo skewer in this oven!
Once the oven reaches 500c, place your cast-iron pan into the oven and wait a few minutes for it to heat up.
Using heat-proof gloves, remove the cast-iron pan from the oven and add the kebabs and return back into the oven and shut the glass door. Halfway through turn the kebabs over.
This should take about 6 minutes in total but check with a meat thermometer to ensure that it is fully cooked.
Cast Iron Pans are a must have item for cooking dishes in these super high heat pizza ovens.
They tasted so wood flamed – totally delicious. In fact, everything in the oven that we cooked had picked up the delicious flavours from the wood flame.
This is such a great way to cook other dishes in a pizza oven and the large cooking area will give you more flexibility to use both big and small pans.
I’ve created a Pizza for Beginners – Learning to Cook Pizza and How to Use Pizza Ovens YouTube playlist that gives some great tips to help you with your learning to cook pizza journey!
