Generally, the speed at which a pizza cooks in your oven increases with the intensity of your pizza flame and proximity to it.
I find that the faster the cook, the softer the crust, so if you prefer a crunchier crust I would lower the flame on the dial and cook the pizza for a bit longer.
I prefer to cook the pizza for about 2.5 minutes to achieve that lovely crunchy crust.
Mozzarella Pizza is my favourite – it’s simple to make and full of flavour, especially when topped with buffalo mozzarella and fresh summer grown basil.
Cooking outside using your pizza oven brings choice. You can top your pizza with anything you want.
I’ve made pizza with toppings that I’ve not been able to buy on a pizza. And that is what’s great about making pizza at home – you have the opportunity to choose and make pizza your way.
You can experiment, make mistakes and like me, regularly burn your pizza! It doesn’t matter because after all that testing, learning and cooking you will be able to create the best pizza for you – your favourite pizza in a fun way and for me that is what cooking pizza outside at home brings – enjoyment, challenges and choices.
